Photographic Symbol: A Wrinkle in Time

For this project, I was given the task to photograph a simple object and then find a book that it could be used for.  I took various photos with my chosen object (glasses).

I decided, after some feedback, that the photos best represent the book A Wrinkle in Time. There are many symbols in the book that can pair well with the symbolism of the glasses and whimsical background (which I painted myself).  The one that stood out most to me in my research was the character Mrs.Who and the glasses she wore, which highlights the theme of seeing beyond the surface. 

After working on some editing and text/font, this is the final product of my book cover and spine:

I am very pleased with the final product of this book cover. I feel that my symbolism of the glasses works really well with the story.  This book is all about seeing and perceiving.  Glasses represent new found knowledge, intelligence, and perspective.  A Wrinkle in Time has many of those themes.  Also, it is such a whimsical, eccentric book, so the background color represents that as well.
